Open call for MATRA proposals 2014

The Dutch Embassy invites eligible civil society organisations to submit proposals for the 2014 MATRA programme. Deadline for submission of applications is 30 April 2014 at 16:00 hrs.

The Dutch Embassy invites eligible civil society organisations to submit proposals for the 2014 MATRA programme. Deadline for submission of applications is 30 April 2014 at 16:00 hrs. Please note that proposals must be submitted in English, both in hard copy and in electronic version before this deadline.

MATRA is a Dutch programme that aims to support the transformation of societies. The general objective is to contribute to the development of a plural democracy, grounded in the rule of law, with an open dialogue between government and civil society. MATRA also aims at building the capacity of institutions of civil society and government, and at strengthening bilateral relations between the Netherlands and its partner countries.

Submitted proposals should specifically focus on one of the following themes:  (1) Rule of Law; (2) Quality and transparency of public administration; (3) Media Freedom/Public access to information or (4) Human rights/anti-discrimination. Project proposals relating to other themes, however relevant for the transformation for society, cannot be approved.Applications for a MATRA can be submitted before the deadline stated above. Applications sent in after the deadline will not be processed.
