II 1. Type of the contract

II 1.a. Title of the object of the contract

Excavation of main and service tube and construction of primary support tunnel expresway "Hranjen"

II 1.b. Description of the object of the contract

Excavation of a tunnel through the mountain massif Hranjen, about 6 km length, in accordance with the specification and

the Employer’s Requirements, for the needs of the future Hrenovica-Hranjen-Goražde expressway. The tunnel should be
located between four possible positions: two at the entrance (north) in the canyon of the Čemernica River and two at the
exit (south), in the valley of Pothranjenski potok. The model of contracting is FIDIC - Yellow Book, first edition, 1999. The
tunnel has a main tube for the two-way traffic, with profile clearences surface of 55.20 m2 (the surface of the excavation
profile is about 95 m2) and a service tube of 25.20 m2 surface (the surface of a excavation profile is about 35 m2); the
maximum longitudinal slope of the vertical alignment is 1.5%. The works include access to portals, construction of
temporary portals and excavation (underground excavation) of the main and service tube with the construction of a primary
support in accordance with the New Austrian Method (NATM). Locations for disposal area of excavated material shall be
provided by the Contracting Authority.
