ABSL request for services consultancy: Associations networking & business development

Association of business service leaders request for services consultancy.

1.Background

Association of Business Service Leaders in BiH (Asocijacija Poslovnih Servis Lidera) hereinafter ABSL is the leading non-profit organization that helps build a globally competitive and knowledge-based local economy. It is aiming to support the development and dynamic growth of the business services sector and promote Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) as a desirable destination for business process outsourcing and information technology outsourcing (BPO and ITO) investments from abroad.

With high potential markets and companies interested in Bosnian market being the primary target audience, the ABSL plans to scan the current services being provided to the ABSL members, map the relevant international stakeholders, and gather relevant information about desirable points the local service providers must have in order to establish collaboration with companies abroad, and use the acquired knowledge to adapt the ABSL pitch (both to international stakeholders and to the potential new members in Bosnia and Herzegovina) in order to trial new membership services related to association networking and business development and attract new investors and partners.

2.Overall objective(s) of the consultancy

The overall objective of the assignment is to promote BiH, and the business services industry represented by the ABSL to potential investors and member capabilities to stakeholders across the globe, specifically in high potential “buyer” countries where present ABSL marketing and promotional activities do not reach or reach to a lesser extent.

The results of the assignment are expected to trial new membership services related to association networking and business development and therefore ultimately bring an increase in:

a) new business leads to ABSL members, and

b) new contracts to ABSL members.

- Expected additional effects: Foreign investments in the form of companies entering BiH for the first time or already existing companies opening new locations across BiH,

- Increased ABSL member satisfaction

- ABSL develops valuable relationships with at least 10 counterparts (associations, chambers of commerce, or other industry representative organizations) in foreign markets (markets of interest) - excluding the markets where ABSL chapters are present.

3.Scope of Work and Principal Activities

The main task of the selected service provider is to lead the process of association networking and business development and bring an increase in new contacts and new leads to ABSL members.

Activities related to this RfS are as follows:

  1. Mapping the key organizations based on the “markets of interest” and “types of organizations”, taking in concern the structure and content of the data acquired in the previous period.
  2. Define stakeholders from private and public sector interested in collaboration with ABSL and ABSL members
  3. Arranging meetings and exploring the potential of collaboration with the relevant stakeholders.
  4. Adapting the strategy based on the initial set of meetings and points completed in the previous period.
  5. Gathering base data on generating leads from ABSL and ABSL members and turning it into information.
  6. Creating initial recommendations and pitch decks based on the target audience.
  7. Creating recommendations to increase the value proposition of ABSL to their members. 

4.Time Schedule

The assignment should commence on September 20th, 2022 and be finalized by mid-December 2022. The following deadlines should be adhered to, but we are open to negotiations with the selected bidder:

  • List of all stakeholders interested in collaboration with ABSL and ABSL members (open for introduction calls - minimum 10 stakeholders).

 

  • Associations networking and business development report.

  1. Adapting the strategy based on the initial set of meetings and points completed in the previous period.
  2. Gathering base data on generating leads from ABSL and ABSL members and turning it into information.
  3. Creating initial recommendations and the pitch decks based on the target audience.
  4. Creating recommendations to increase the value proposition of ABSL to their members

 

  • 1 document summarising the acquired information and recommendation (current business model, value propositions, leads and contracts from the network)
  • Variation of pitch decks based on the target audience
  • Pitching sessions with outcome of:

Fine-tuned pitching along with the pitch document, defined modus operandi for each group of target audience, standardised options/packages for each group of target audience

  • Recommendations about the ABSL value proposition /business model gathered from external stakeholders (markets of interest) and from the ABSL members
  • Recommendations (for ABSL members) based on the insights gathered from external stakeholders (markets of interest) in the previous phases.

5.Communication, reporting, and debriefing

Regular communication and periodic updates on the overall progress of the Assignment is expected and should be directed toward the ABSL Managing Director, Ms. Nadina Gradaščević. The approach should be agreed upon in advance with the ABSL. All finalized documents should be submitted to the aforementioned.

ABSL may also request that the consultant participates in small case studies and ‘good news stories’ that are shared with the ABSL community and other industry stakeholders. In this regard, the consultant agrees to be interviewed for such promotions/reporting.

6.Induction and documents

At the beginning of the Assignment, the service provider/consultant will receive an induction from the ABSL team, helping to familiarise them with ABSL plans, needs, and goals. Where necessary, ABSL documents will be shared to support this process.

7.Offer, remuneration, logistics

Applicants are expected to provide a financial and technical offer. The technical offer should include:

-           cover letter explaining why the service provider/consultant is the best for the job,

-           relevant references of similar work

-           CV(s) of expert/experts, and

-           methodology explaining the approach to be used to implement this work.

The financial offer should include a timeline and the number of days necessary for the implementation of the above-listed activities. The proposal must include clear steps and concrete activities that must be conducted, as well as their outputs.

The weighted scoring method will be used, and the award of the contract will go to the service provider/consultant whose offer is evaluated and which complied with the following:

a) responsive, compliant, acceptable,

b) having received the highest score out of a pre-determined set of weighted technical and financial criteria specific as follows: technical criteria 70%, and financial criteria 30%.

Additional costs that are not included in the offer cannot be charged to ABSL.

ABSL reserves the right to select the most suitable offer at its discretion.

8.Payment Schedule

The service provider will receive payments in two instalments, each 50% of the total amount as follows:

1st instalment – 50% of the total amount after the completion of activities 1-4.

2nd instalment – 50% of the total amount after the completion of activities 4-7 and other obligations as part of the term of references of the Contract.

The deadline for submission of proposals is September 16th, 2022 by 12:00. Due to time sensitivity, late applications will not be taken into consideration.
