Introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics

19.09.2023. 15:09 / Izvor: Akta.ba
Seminar

A basic knowledge of the physics of fluids and information technology is expected.

The course introduces the basic principles behind computational fluid dynamics technology, teaches participants how to set up and run CFD cases, and finally how to analyze results and do post-procession of data. The course discusses important topics in CFD such as turbulence modeling, numerical methods, boundary conditions, etc. The participants will have hands-on experience in defining, running, and analyzing relevant CFD cases.

A basic knowledge of the physics of fluids and information technology is expected.

The course is based on open-source technology so no extra cost will be present during the course.

The purpose of the course is to enable students to use CFD for engineering analysis and design tasks.

The course aims to give students a working knowledge of computational fluid dynamics through:

  •  introducing the (mathematical) background and theory to computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) based on finite volume method,
  • an awareness of the limitations of CFD codes and their application to fluid flow problems,
  • practical sessions of running a proprietary CFD package
